Volunteer With Wimberley Parks Starting in October!
Cooler weather is right around the corner, and it will soon be time to kick off our Wednesday Workdays once again! If you’re passionate about nature and want to give back to your community, this is your sign to start volunteering with Wimberley Parks and Recreation. Your helping hand will aid our small, but mighty team in keeping our beloved parks beautiful. This is your chance to put on some work gloves, breathe in the fresh air, and make a tangible difference in the outdoor spaces we all cherish.
Our Wednesday Workgroup is a dedicated team of park enthusiasts who share a love for nature and hands-on work. From repairing trails and identifying invasive species to planting trees and grasses, collecting seeds, and maintaining park landscapes, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved. Not only is this an amazing opportunity to connect with fellow nature lovers, but it’s also a perfect way to log volunteer hours toward maintaining your Master Naturalist certification or any other community service hours you made need to fulfill. AND you’re guaranteed to learn something new about the flora and fauna of the beautiful Texas Hill Country!
The group meets more than 20 different Wednesday morning from October through April, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. under the guidance of our Natural Resources and Maintenance Manager, Bryce Burkhalter, and our hard-working team of maintenance technicians. Each week, we tackle a new project, and there’s always something rewarding to do!
