Dark Sky Events This Fall!
As we roll into our fall event season, we want to spotlight some of our favorite events that happen to be based on our community’s dark sky efforts with partnership from Wimberley Valley Dark Sky.
Howl at the Moon Dance Party
The first dark sky related event of the season is our annual Howl at the Moon Dance Party! This is one of my (Recreation Manager, Rachel Littleton) favorite events of the year, and we’re only making it better. This free event sports a space-themed playlist dance party, refreshments, and a group howl at 8:30 to the full moon! We recommend wearing anything you have that sparkles to accompany our disco ball and our cool accessories we hand out at the event. This event occurs once a year, so you don’t want to miss it!

Star Party
Our other event is our bi-annual Star Party! Come gaze at the stars with us and learn some lore, location, and history behind constellations and peer through telescopes. This is done in partnership with Wimberley Valley Dark Sky and the Texas State Astronomy Club. Bring chairs, a red-light flashlight, a picnic blanket, and prepare to be amazed by our dark sky. This event is also completely free and is weather permitting so keep an eye on our social media and website for updates.
