The Wimberley Valley Art League (WVAL) stands as a beacon of artistic expression and community collaboration. As a non-profit organization, WVAL’s mission is to promote and inspire creativity among its members and the broader community, fostering a love for the arts in the serene landscapes of Wimberley.

One of the key highlights of WVAL’s commitment to the arts is its annual juried art show exhibits hosted at the Wimberley Community Center. These exhibits serve as a platform for both emerging and established artists to showcase their talent, bringing the community together in celebration of diverse artistic expressions.

These juried art exhibits are not just about showcasing talent; they play a pivotal role in encouraging artists to push their boundaries and explore new realms of creativity. The competitive aspect instills a sense of achievement and recognition within the artistic community, motivating members to continually refine and evolve their craft. The WVAL juried art shows have become a hallmark event, eagerly anticipated by both artists and art enthusiasts alike.

In addition to the annual juried shows, WVAL maintains a dynamic Gallery space that hosts new art exhibits every two months. This frequent rotation of exhibits ensures a fresh and ever-changing experience for visitors, providing a platform for artists to experiment with different themes, styles, and mediums. The Gallery not only serves as a showcase for WVAL members but also as an inclusive space that welcomes artists from diverse backgrounds, creating a melting pot of creativity within the community.

One of the unique aspects of WVAL’s Gallery exhibits is the open reception held for each new showcase. These receptions are not exclusive events; they are open to the public, inviting art enthusiasts, community members, and visitors to come together in appreciation of the featured artworks. The receptions serve as lively gatherings where artists can connect with their audience, sharing insights into their creative process and fostering a sense of community engagement. In addition, each work of art is available for purchase through WVAL. The upcoming art gallery reception is scheduled for Friday, February 16th  and will take place from 5:30 – 8:00 pm.
