🌳 Shaded walking paths lined with carefully selected plantings, making the space a serene retreat for reflection and connection with nature.
Who Was Marilee Wood?
Marilee Wood was a visionary leader, dedicated public servant, and passionate advocate for preserving Wimberley’s natural beauty. As a key figure in the city’s incorporation and a driving force behind the creation of Blue Hole Regional Park, she played a crucial role in ensuring that the land remained a public treasure rather than a site for large-scale development. Serving three terms on the Wimberley City Council, she was known for her unwavering commitment to thoughtful city planning, environmental conservation, and fostering a strong sense of community. Beyond Wimberley, her impressive career spanned education, public service, and leadership roles in urban planning and transportation, making her a force for positive change wherever she went.
Construction Begins Soon!
Construction will commence in the next few days, with completion expected later this year. During this time, some areas of the park may be temporarily inaccessible. We appreciate your patience as we create this meaningful addition to our beloved park.
A heartfelt thank you to Friends of Wimberley Parks and all the dedicated individuals making this vision a reality.
Stay tuned for updates, and we look forward to welcoming you to the Marilee Wood Memorial Garden soon!
