Call for Volunteers: Join the Wimberley Wednesday Workdays!

As summer fades and cooler mornings settle in, it’s time to kick off our Wednesday Workdays once again! If you’re passionate about nature and want to give back to your community, Wimberley Parks and Recreation is calling on volunteers to help keep our beloved parks beautiful. This is your chance to roll up your sleeves, breathe in the fresh air, and make a tangible difference in the outdoor spaces we all cherish.

Our Wednesday Workgroup is a dedicated team of park enthusiasts who share a love for nature and hands-on work. From repairing trails and identifying invasive species to planting trees and grasses, collecting seeds, and maintaining park landscapes, there’s no shortage of ways to get involved. Not only is this an amazing opportunity to connect with fellow nature lovers, but it’s also a perfect way to log volunteer hours toward maintaining your Master Naturalist certification.

The group meets almost every Wednesday morning from October through April, from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. under the expert guidance of our Park Natural Resources and Maintenance Manager, Bryce Burkhalter, and our hard-working team of maintenance technicians. Each week, we tackle a new project, and there’s always something rewarding to do! Click here for the tentative schedule for this season – Volunteer Workday Schedule 2024-25

Whether you’re a seasoned volunteer or just looking for a way to reconnect with the great outdoors, we’d love to have you join us. Email Bryce directly at bburkhalter@cityofwimberley.com to be added to our weekly email list. You’ll receive updates on the upcoming projects, so you’re always in the loop about how you can help.

Come be a part of something bigger, enjoy nature, and make Wimberley Parks even more stunning. We can’t wait to see you out there! 🌿✨
