Your Guide to 2026 with Wimberley Parks and Recreation

As the holiday season comes to an end, we are looking ahead to all that Wimberley Parks and Recreation has planned for 2026. This year, we moved away from the magazine-style activity guide and created a tri-fold brochure instead. It still features a month-to-month calendar of events and highlights our most popular programs. You can view it here.

We are increasing the frequency of programs that tend to sell out quickly, such as Owl Prowl and Firefly Watch, and we are excited to share that everyone’s favorite adult sport leagues are returning as well. Along with these classics, many community favorite events are coming back. Mark your calendars for Movie in the Park, Star Parties, Boo! Hole, the Wimberley Film Festival, Camp No Kids, and more. We are working hard to incorporate feedback as we reimagine these programs and events, and we hope to see you there.

In addition to these well-loved offerings, we are excited to introduce refreshed programming designed to better serve our community and highlight the natural beauty of Wimberley. These updates include our summer camps, which will feature engaging weekly themes and hands-on experiences, the Migratory Bird Day Festival, formerly known as the Migratory Bird Day Seminar, and expanded guided hikes that invite participants to explore local trails while learning about the land and wildlife. We are also looking forward to welcoming the community to brand-new educational programs such as World of Crystals and Bat Watch, which offer unique opportunities to learn more about the fascinating natural systems that make Central Texas special.

2025 was a remarkable year for Wimberley Parks and Recreation, and we are excited to carry that momentum into 2026. We cannot wait to welcome you to our programs, events, and camps in the year ahead. Happy New Year!
