Support Wimberley Parks and Rec! How to Get Involved
Community engagement is at the heart of Wimberley Parks and Recreation. Our department mission is to protect our natural resources, provide safe spaces for recreation, and encourage environmental education—all of these rely on active involvement from those who value our open Hill Country spaces. Whether you represent a local organization giving back to the community, or are an individual looking to show support, here are a few ways you can help us further our mission.
- If you want to help maintain the natural beauty of Blue Hole, Old Baldy, and our other parks, consider signing up for one of our Wednesday Volunteer Workdays. This program is paused during Blue Hole’s swim season, but will resume during the off-season. This group meets every Wednesday from October to May, and is led by Natural Resources and Maintenance manager Bryce Burkhalter. For more information, contact Bryce at [email protected].
- If you are seeking professional involvement with Wimberley Parks and Recreation, you may be in luck! We currently have a staff opening for a full-time Park Maintenance Technician. This position, along with any others that become available, is posted to the City of Wimberley website.
- For local organizations and businesses looking to support the Parks and Rec mission, consider sponsoring our department. We offer many sponsorship levels, each with their own perks—more information can be found in our sponsorship interest form. We also partner with food and drink vendors at many of our special events, such as BOO! Hole Halloween and Polar Bear Plunge. If you would like to pursue such a partnership, please fill out our vendor interest form.
- Finally, for those who want to contribute individually, consider donating to the department directly!
Thank you for supporting Wimberley Parks and Recreation! Your acts of support, no matter how small, help us protect our Hill Country and provide recreational opportunities for the community. If you would like to reach out, email us at [email protected], or call us at 512-660-9111.
