National Parks and Recreation Month

National Parks and Recreation Month, celebrated every July, aims to highlight the vital role that parks and recreation play in our communities. The National Recreation and Park Association (NRPA) organizes this month-long celebration to encourage people to explore outdoor spaces, participate in recreational activities, and appreciate the benefits that parks and recreation provide.

This year’s theme is “Where Community Grows,” focusing on how parks and recreation help build strong, vibrant communities by providing spaces for physical activity, social interaction, and environmental conservation. The Wimberley Parks and Recreation Department is joining the festivities with a host of activities and programs that highlight the beauty and community spirit of this charming Texas Hill Country town.
